A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved, acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license and personal computer experience.
Statewide travel with occasional overnight stays.
Updates and maintains complex traffic count program by collecting data with state-of-the-art computerized traffic monitoring equipment. Analyzes traffic data and prepares reports through the use of laptop computer daily. Downloads data from traffic equipment to laptop. Transfers all files from field, statewide, via telemetry through the use of dial up networking to Headquarters office personal computer. Selects sites for placement of counting equipment for collection of traffic data. Conducts complex non-routine technical assignments including speed
studies and other special studies (railroad, bridge, toll facilities, and hurricane evacuation). Assists in training of new employees in field operation procedures. Performs other related duties as required.
