A high school diploman and two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Performs all phases of roadway inspection to ensure that construction meets the standard specifications. Inspections include: clearing and grubbing of right-of-way, rough and fine grading, placement of pipe and drainage structures, construction of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalks, compaction of embankment and subgrades, placement of base courses,placement of asphalt surface courses and bituminous surfacing, grassing, placing of guardrail,and other miscellaneous items. Compiles and records information for daily dairy, monthly construction reports and prepares monthly construction estimates. Samples construction materials. Obtains job control samples; performs aggregate gradation analysis. Perform related duties as requested.
