Requirements:

A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. Successful completion of a comprehensive bridge inspection training course is required by Federal Highway Administration. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Assists with the inspection and evaluation of bridges and culverts by following guidelines as mandated by FHWA. Edits information to inspection report and computer. Assists with the assembly and distribution of completed inspection reports. Operates vehicles and motorboat. Operates the underbridge platform or snooper unit as needed for underbridge inspections. Updates reports of bridge/culverts that have an "A" or "B" flag properly repaired. Prepares time sheets, HMMS daily work reports, bridge deficiency reports, and BAI reports. Updates pictures of new structures, damages to structures, updates maps and inspection files. Updates bridge/culvert location coordinates by going to each site and taking measurements using GPS. Records the streambed profile by completing the stream/ground profile report. Performs other duties necessary for the successful completion of the inspection program.

Schedule:
FTE- Full-time, Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
