Job Summary and Mission 

This job contributes to Starbucks success by assisting with process improvements for production software and production equipment with limited supervision. Maintains and provides troubleshooting of plant automation systems and assists in the implementation of new automation projects. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

 • Assists Engineering with updates, changes and testing of new modifications. • Contributes to new equipment implementations and projects. • Performs periodic maintenance of automation control systems and hardware. • Performs troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation issues for the site packaging and process equipment, transfer system, ancillary facility equipment and building automation systems. • Contributes to continuous improvement projects. • Demonstrates and understands safety as a core value and follows the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforces and coaches others to do the same. • Understands and follows established safety guidelines, consistently complies with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out). • Supports food safety, legality and quality programs. • Maintains product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitors and documents quality measures using analytical tools. • Performs other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values. • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. 

Basic Qualifications

 • Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary): o High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent • Skills (minimum skills required): o Proficiency with one or more SCADA/HMI development software suites. o Understanding of the use and interpretation of various test instruments in conjunction with properly interpreting schematics and technical drawings. o Proficiency with industrial automation programming including but not limited to: PLC ladder logic modification, troubleshooting, and one or more Rockwell PLC programming languages. o Knowledgeable with Rockwell Automation products such as PLC’s, VFD’s, Servo’s, and field instrumentation devices. o Proficiency with common process control instruments such as motor drives, valves, relays and measurement transducers for pressure, temperature and flow as well as other sensor devices required. o Knowledgeable with industrial networking theory and hardware used to connect control system components and instrumentation including a wide variety of fiber, wired and wireless systems using industrial protocols (Control Net, Device Net, Ethernet I/P, ASI, Modbus, etc.) o Familiar with physical and virtual server architecture. o Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies and procedures o Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs o Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing o Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision o Ability to work with a diverse team environment Attention to detail o Basic math skills • 

Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed to be qualified): o Relevant experience in similar industry (3 Years) o PLC Programming specific to Rockwell Automation software suite (3 Years) o Electrical troubleshooting (3 Years) o General industrial maintenance and electrical systems (3 Years) o Interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings including original equipment manuals (1 Year) o Knowledge of applicable electrical codes including NEC 70 and NFPA 70E (1 Year) 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Education (ideal education level or degree): o Associates degree or direct relevant experience in any of the following fields / areas:  Industrial Controls  Industrial Automation  Instrumentation  Computer Science  Network Architecture or Infrastructure • Technical leadership, with the ability to coach and mentor team partners • Familiarity with the food and beverage operations. • Knowledgeable with AC/DC theory, Ohm’s Law, transformers, power supplies and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with ANSI/ISA S88 standards. • Knowledgeable with networked, manufacturing printers. • Familiarity with the development and ongoing maintenance of SCADA systems including User Interface Systems/ HMI’s, including but not limited to, the following applications: WonderWare In-Touch, Archestra, RS Logix, and Ignition Suite. • Knowledgeable with the modification and maintenance of database applications including, but not limited to, SQL Server. • Familiarity with the basic troubleshooting of industrial robotics programing such as ABB robotics. • Familiar with the modification and maintenance of electrical documentation using AutoCAD, including panel, equipment, and process and instrumentation drawings (PID). • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or or SQF). Physical Requirements

Schedule:
12-hours rotating shifts 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. - 7 a.m. rotating bi-weekly.
