A high school diploma and two (2) years of custodial or grounds keeping experience directly
related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with
State Human Resources Regulations.
Must have supervisory experience.
This position serves as the Night Custodial Manager for the SCDOT Headquarters location.
Develops and implements working procedures for a large custodial crew to clean and maintain
the 234,231 square foot SCDOT Headquarters. Responsible for making studies of personnel,
chemical, and equipment usage in order to effectively operate efficient services. Responsible
for building security during shift work and ensures that a security guard is on duty before
leaving the building. Assists in making personnel management decisions, determines quality
acceptance levels of work, provides technical supervision and training as necessary. Inspects
building, parking garage, and outside grounds to ensure compliance with prescribed standards
of cleanliness. Initiates corrective action as required. Complies with all safety regulations,
practices and procedures; takes immediate action to stop unsafe practices. Respectful and
courteous to coworkers, employees and visitors at all times. Other duties as required.
