Career Specialist

Conduct assessments and provide career planning for students. Conduct activities to promote self-awareness. Create educational materials highlighting "in demand" careers to disseminate to students that request career information. Discuss specific job duties, salaries, and companies where previous PTC students were hired. Support non-traditional careers through discussion, posters, resource guides and career cards. Provide exposure to students through social media on majors in non-traditional settings such as Engineering, Mechatronics, Nursing, and Health Careers. Educate students on support services and/or provide/connect student with services. Provide class visits to conduct services to students. Assess need of students for technology resources and provide as needed. Offer additional services as needed, such as outreach to at risk students, students with disabilities, advising, and other student retention services.
