Requirements:

A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.

A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Trains in various areas of inspection, may accomplish inspection work less of complicated nature, clearing and grubbing, pipe and catch basin work and seeding. Performs preliminary work on upcoming projects including stationing, marking patch locations, placing of guardrail and other related items. Assists inspectors in obtaining necessary construction samples. Duties include obtaining materials samples to be tested, filling out sample cards, and performing some test under direct supervision. Assists in the checking of base depth and grade. Assists in measuring for quantities of grassing, concrete, asphalt. Performs basic calculations on areas, earthwork quantities, length of pavement markings. Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.
