Associate's degree in Biological Sciences preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Two to three years of dive experience with current dive certification from a nationally accredited organization, advance certification preferred. Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 administration. Proficient computer skills. Must be able to pass dive medical evaluation. Must be able to and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly. Must possess or be eligible for a valid SC driver's license.
Under general supervision will provide support to the Dive Program in the role of diver, dive tender, and dive person in charge under the regulations for commercial diving as outlined by OSHA. Participate in multiple dives per day. Clean exhibits and dive areas. Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on a variety of equipment in and out of the water. Maintain logs for all aspects of the dive program. Adhere to and help implement dive safety policies and procedures. Conduct dive training drills and participate in continuing education training. This individual must be able to work week days, weekends, and some evenings/overtime. Reports to Dive Program Compliance Officer.
