Bachelor?s Degree in Electrical Engineering in design, fabrication, installation, or inspection of related industrial construction OR
Associates or Technical Degree with five (5) or more years? experience in design, fabrication, installation, or inspection or related industrial construction OR
High school diploma or GED with seven (7) or more years experience in design, fabrication, installation, or inspection of related industrial construction
Experience with ED PDS modeling software, SupportModeler, SmartPlant Review and Microstation software platforms
Contributes to achievement of team goals; promotes teamwork
Strong math aptitude, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups outside of the Construction Field Engineering Group
Effective communication and interpersonal skills ? both written and verbal

Job Description:

Electrical OR HVAC Designer II ? 6 month assignment to supplement resident designers to produce field routed design of conduit in the MFFF
The Designer 2 is responsible for preparing engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications used in the layout, construction, and test of Work Packages on the MOX Project. The individual in this role works with partners across functional disciplines to coordinate the design of the Work Packages. The Designer 2 ensures the design process recognizes appropriate standards and codes and ensures the design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with the MOX Project timeline.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Completed work assignments independently or with minimal supervision and guidance, coordinates activities of others when needed, drafts field change notices, field change requests, non-conformance reports
Develop design and construction quality deliverables using 3D PDS model input and Plant Design layout drawings
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of facility design, construction, operations, and maintenance
Utilize and understand the responsibilities associated with tasks performed in accordance with an integrated project schedule
Interact with other design disciplines on a daily basis to resolve issues; review and provide comments on engineering related documents; understand design interface activities
Represent Plant Design in meetings and discussions related to assigned tasks
Creating one-line, wiring, and schematic diagrams development and cable raceway routing
Support design of the MOX facility instrument systems. It involves the ability to develop drawings of complex instrumentation and control schemes
Cross discipline review of design documents and interface with clients and vendors
Reviewing work of fellow designers
Performing vendor submittal review and bid analysis and coordination of design with other disciplines
Apply project design requirements to the electrical design including the NEC and various IEEE standards for design of Class 1E electrical/instrumentation systems for nuclear generation facilities
Review Cable Block Diagrams and Cable Schedules for procedure compliance and completeness and work with other group to resolve any construction problems
Identifying non-conformances and provide for processing in a timely manner
Supports the project schedule to achieve completion of scheduled activities
Adhering to and promoting safe work practices
