Wages/Salary: The state salary ranges from $46,169.00 to $85,417.00, Annually. The agency hiring range minimum is $62,934.00. The agency hiring maximum is $85,417.00.
You will need to have a bachelor's degree in engineering and four (4) years of journey-level engineering work experience; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and six (6) years of journey-level engineering work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations; a master's degree in engineering and two (2) years of entrylevel
engineering work experience may be substituted for the required experience; a Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
You will have to supervise the construction and layout of all assigned projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance with the contract, contract special provisions, plans and the standard specifications; evaluate contractor's construction practices and procedures to ensure they meet the department's current standards; supervise the employees in the Saluda Construction office
and assigns construction projects to employees; project consists of layout, construction inspection, sampling of materials, final measurements, compiling and computing supportive notes, compiling final plans and miscellaneous notes; review all reports including EEO requirements, daily diaries, weekly, monthly and final construction reports; check monthly pay estimates, final construction reports and monthly trainee reports; acquire utility agreement and sketches from public and private utility companies for relocating their facilities that are located in the line of construction; respond to concerns and complaints from property owners
who have property adjacent to construction projects and complaints from the traveling public; evaluate and recommends personnel actions, approves time sheets, and ensures the office and staff are well equipped; respond to District Engineer, SCDOT Personnel in Columbia, Contractors and related parties with written correspondence; perform various duties assigned by the District Construction Engineer.
