Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information on existing conditions, soil quality, drainage, and other relevant factors.
- Collaborate with project managers, landscape architects, and clients to clarify project objectives and expectations.
- Analyze project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services, to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.
- Research and source materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to obtain competitive pricing.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive and professional proposals to clients, including detailed scope of work, pricing, and timelines.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns and negotiating terms as needed.
- Track and manage the status of proposals, following up with clients to secure contracts and resolve any issues.
- Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to ensure smooth handover of projects and accurate transfer of information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience as an estimator in the commercial landscaping industry.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping principles, materials, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to use estimating software and tools effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permit processes related to landscaping projects is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, conducting site evaluations, and preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscaping and/or construction, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
