Wages/Salary: $28,227 -$40,929 annually.
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent with nine to twelve months of fire services or fire training experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must have successfully completed required courses and certification; may be required to possess additional certification(s) as deemed necessary by the city. Must possess a valid SC drivers license. Must possess CPR and first aid certification.
Under regular supervision, performs firefighting, hazardous materials release response, and technical rescues in order to protect and safeguard lives and property of Newberry citizens. Work involves handling the responsibility for ensuring the readiness and condition of all department resources to include emergency response vehicles, hand tools and equipment, and buildings and grounds. Reports to the Fire Captain.
