Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

  1. FMT-I, II, III -  High School Diploma
  2. FMT-I, II, III - Knowledgeable of current vehicle manufacturer’s modifications and updates.
  3. FMT-I – Zero to three years’ experience as a Technician.
  4. FMT-II – Three to ten years; experience as a Technician.
  5. FMT-III – Ten years or more experience as a Technician
  6. Should be able to do general welding, cutting, and fabrication necessary for maintenance of fleet.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Two-Year Technical Degree with specialized training in Vehicular Maintenance and ASE Certification.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  3. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Job Description:

Summary/Objective

Provide efficient and reliable service in the maintenance and repair of all Cooperative vehicles and transportation equipment.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. The Technician must be capable of making ordinary repairs and mechanical work on all Cooperative owned vehicles and power equipment, as well as service and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  2. The rebuilding motor mechanism or power equipment including major and minor overhaul.
  3. Troubleshoots and repair hydraulic systems on equipment, such as hose replacement, pumps, motors, and repacking cylinders.  Troubleshoots, charges and repairs air conditioners on vehicles and off-road equipment.
  4. Paints and does body work, such as replacing fenders and doors, and repairing fiberglass front ends as time permits.
  5. Assists in maintaining daily records of all shop work, condition of vehicles, tires and parts used and time required, as well as maintaining inventory and report of all parts, fuel, oil, tires, shop tools, and equipment on hand.
