Dominion Energy South Carolina is looking for a Fleet Technician to join our team in Warrenville, SC. This position maintains company vehicles by keeping them well-lubricated, fueled, and cleaned. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on automotive equipment.
- Assists in servicing automotive electrical, mechanical, and fuel systems and compressed natural gas (CNG) systems.
- Repairs and maintains construction equipment.
- Services automotive equipment by lubricating, changing oil, repairing tires, washing, and packing wheel bearings.
- Assists in mounting vehicle bodies, tool boxes, welding equipment, generators, and compressors.
- Maintains garage in clean and orderly condition.
- May perform minor or major maintenance and/or repairs required for proper operations of field compressor units/turbo charges, oil/jacket water pumps, turbines, pumps, and cooling equipment.
The work schedule for this position is 1st Shift - Hours: Monday thru Thursday 9:30am to 6pm / Friday 7am - 3:30pm
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
- 3+ years of experience in automotive maintenance and repair, or one year trade school and one year experience, or equivalent combination.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of automotive and construction equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Basic knowledge of NGV conversion technology.
- Basic knowledge of CNG compression and dispensing equipment.
- Possession of own hand tools.
- Skill diagnosing and repairing automotive and construction equipment.
- Skill using hand and power tools, such as hoists, saws, wrenches, and hammers.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to distinguish the nature of sounds to determine if equipment is running correctly.
- Ability to respond to emergency conditions, which may include changing flat tires, chaining up vehicles, and operating a two-way radio.
