EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training on floor equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Custodial cleaning experience recommended. Completed all safety and task training certification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read 2-3 syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers. Ability to print clearly and speak simple
sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Know how to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10?s and 100?s. Know the American measure of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and measures such as cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc.
REASONING/ANALYTICAL SKILLS: Apply common sense knowledge to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Be able to deal with routine situations with only few or no changes. Recognize and understand safety signs and building warning systems. Understand safety requirements, understand & meet company handbook expectations.
Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners and other janitorial equipment. Take care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces. Work is routine & repetitive.
OTHER SKILLS: Ability to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties. Work in a team environment. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Required to have a valid driver?s license, if driving own vehicle on business time or company vehicle. Will also be required to have proof of vehicle registration and insurance. Maybe required to be forklift certified.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stand 33%, walk >66%, sit 10%. Use of hands to finger, handle, rub, grip and feel 66%. Reach above shoulders 33%, push/pull and grasp with hands and arms 33-50%, climb or balance 33%. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 33%. Frequency lift 0-10 lbs. carry 1-3 feet, occasionally lift 35 lbs. and carry 1-5 feet. Talk and hear 100%. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust and focus 100%. Exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
