Requirements:

The employee must possess the skills of an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) with minimally an Associate's degree, licensed to practice OT/OTA in South Carolina, and has been actively involved in providing direct patient care and is knowledgeable in subject matter through training and experience. Must also have a current, valid driver's license.
Preferred qualifications are active membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA); 3 years of clinical experience as an OT/OTA; teaching experience preferred; and one year of clinical student supervisory experience.

Job Description:

In this challenging role, you will support the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following: Instructional Management: Teach a minimum of 20 contact hours weekly; submit reports in timely manner; arrange physical environment for effective learning; adhere to class schedules; provide effective classroom/lab supervision; maintain accurate course records, provide disciplinary action where appropriate. Instructional Development: Develop and maintain course documentation; review and select textbooks for courses in subject area; maintain audio-visual and/or other course materials through any medium, be organized and well prepared for class; work with Program Director to schedule class and lab time effectively. Instructional Performance: Provide students with course syllabus, course policies and other relevant course information in a timely manner; relate instructional materials in an effective manner; provide, score and return test results in a timely manner; relate tests to course objectives. College and/or Community Service: Assist with faculty/student recruitment and/or job placement; serve on college-wide and community committees; attend professional development seminars. Student Advising: Maintain required, publicized office hours; refer students for appropriate assistance; maintain appropriate records; meet with students in a timely manner; display sensitivity to students' needs and problems. Professional Development: Work with Department Head to develop an annual professional plan that includes but may not be limited to courses/workshops/seminars; writing and presenting papers at conferences; completing research in subject field. This position will serve as a faculty member in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and teach all assigned Phase II OTA courses. The primary responsibilities will include classroom/laboratory instruction and evaluation, clinic supervision and
evaluation/preparation in curriculum development and evaluation. Other assigned duties include, but are not limited to,student recruitment, advising and retention, clinical site identification, participation on college/division/department committees
and/or teams and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
