South Carolina Electric & Gas Company is seeking a candidate with strong plant operating and electronics maintenance experience, preferably Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), to fill an LNG Specialist opening within the LNG Operations department. The primary work location is the Bushy Park Liquefied Natural Gas facility in Charleston, SC.
Responsibilities:
Position responsibilities include operating, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment. Preference is for advanced electronics operations and maintenance skills. Advanced “Hands-on” knowledge and experience in the following areas is highly preferred: programmable logic controls and/or plant control systems, computer experience, industrial electrical experience and control system electrical experience.
Extensive knowledge of plant equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, and valves is a plus.
The ideal candidate should have LNG plant experience or chemical, refinery, or gas processing plant experience and knowledge of cryogenic processes. Comparable experience in other manufacturing process environments will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience training other employees within the E&I discipline.
Additional responsibilities include working as a plant operator, working rotating shifts as needed, some travel to other company facilities, and call-outs.
Qualifications
Level I – Requirements include a High School diploma accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education or GED, and 0 to 2 years of experience in plant operations or maintenance. An Associate Degree in a related technical field is preferred.
Level II – Requirements include a High School diploma accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education or GED, and 5 years of equivalent experience operating or maintaining comparable plants and equipment. An Associate Degree in a related technical field is preferred.
Level III –An Associate Degree and 10 years of equivalent experience operating or maintaining comparable plants and equipment, OR a High School Diploma accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education or GED and 14 years of experience operating or maintaining comparable plants and equipment.
Other qualifications include a valid driver's license with a good driving history, and the ability to pass respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) fit test and annual physical.
