Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment requiring a strong mechanical skills base and the ability to quickly learn, troubleshoot, and correct any issues. 

Job Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, install, configure, repair, and upgrade both mechanical and electronic parts
• Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using gauges or other testing devices
• Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and machine stoppages while collaborating with departments.
• Acts as the “first responder” when a machine stops producing and corrects any problems quickly
• Operates newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
• Analyzes test results, machine error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems
• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational, quality, and safety performance standards and regulations
• Ensures daily maintenance tasks are met including but not limited to oiling, greasing, cleaning, adjusting thread tension, and adjusting the timing of machines
• Proactively identify equipment or machines needing repair and establish plans and schedules to ensure issues are corrected
• Communicates with the machine/equipment manufacturers to troubleshoot and determine machine issues and order necessary parts to complete repairs
• Actively pursues growth and developmental opportunities; seeks out feedback and responds without defensiveness; continuously finds ways to improve.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent required
• Technician Certification preferred
• Ability to read instruction manuals and parts lists (Schematics/ technical documents)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and time management
• Must be proficient with computers
• Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills
• Must be comfortable using basic hand tools, gauges, digital multimeter, etc
• Embroidery machine experience is preferred but not required
• Detail-oriented with a high standard of quality
• Lockout tag-out process
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, kneel/crouch, and crawl into awkward spaces for prolonged periods, if needed.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
