Mechanic

Saluda County is accepting applications for Mechanic.  Duties include but are not limited to:  performing preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment; diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions; making repairs; maintaining vehicle and equipment records to track maintenance intervals and history; scheduling equipment maintenance and repair; welding repairs; fabricating parts; maintaining inventory of parts and supplies; operating various types of shop equipment; operating equipment in support of department operations.  Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with high school education; sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.  A detailed job description is available at the County Council office, 400 W.
