Requirements:

A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of work experience that involved the independent performance of job duties directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. Class A commercial driver's license. (Note): This position requires a Class A commercial driver's license. However, applicants without a Class A driver's license will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class A commercial driver's license are available. However, applicants are required to obtain a Class A commercial driver's license within six (6) months of employment. May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays, and during inclement weather or other emergencies.

Job Description:

Under general supervision. Performs skilled routine, general and specialized repairs of moderate difficulty to automotive vehicles. Instructs subordinates in proper repair procedures. Performs welding and fabrication for repairs on various equipment making modifications to equipment to improve the production of utilizations. Performs work on electrical system repair or replacement of alternators, starter, DMI and strobe lights. Repairs diesel power equipment to include motor-graders, backhoes, loaders, roller, AMZ machines, tractors, and mowing equipment. Repairs diesel engines to include cooling system, fuel system, transmissions, rear ends, hydraulics systems, gear box, steering, engines, drive trains, PTO and other various types of repairs. Performs preventive maintenance as required. Repairs vehicles during service calls that require repair before movement. Repairs and replaces power brakes units, master cylinders, power steering pumps and power steering units. Performs other related duties as required.
