Must be able to perform quick, accurate, and careful work; Judge straight lines, spaces, and proportions. Physically must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; and see well (either naturally or with correction); and lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds or more. With supervision, replaces construction joint material with cement or caulking, in accordance with generally accepted standards of the craft.
Typical Duties: Cuts out the old material to a specified depth by scraping with a scraper or cutting with knife. Caulks the joint by packing, applying the caulking using a hand or power caulking gun, and dressing the joint. Cements the joint by replacing the cement using hand tools, pointing with a hand tool, and brushing to remove the excess material. Cleans the surface with water or acid solution by spraying or brushing. May be required to rig mobile and stationary scaffolding on structures in accordance with corporate guidelines.
