Basic Qualifications: Associates of Arts degree in a technical related discipline; or 4 years of work experience in a related field 3 yrs or more of related experience
Proficient in operating and maintaining Metrology/Calibration equipment. Experience with Metrology/Calibration systems, processes and procedures. Knowledge of standard calibration, data acquisition, and reduction Knowledge of the principles of Metrology Knowledge of Metrology Laboratory equipment (e.g. meters,manometer,scopes)
Knowledge of calibration document control concepts and techniques Knowledge of uncertainty analysis and statistical aspects of calibration. The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure they are completed accurately,efficiently, and in a timely manner. This also includes being reliable, trusted, and accountable for completing work activities Good interpersonal communication with ability to accurately interpret messages from others and respond appropriately. Ability to maintain traceability of measurement standards to
the National Institute of Standards and Technology Calibrate Measurement and Test Equipment and maintain Standards in accordance with approved documentation to provide calibrated equipment traceable to the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) and/or other regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft office (Powerpoint, EXCEL and Word). Knowledge of MET/TRACK Metrology database
Direct Metrology/Calibration operating experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of calibration techniques/methology for various welder types including: Friction Stir, VPPA and Orbital Tube welding equipment. Knowledge of calibration techniques/methodologies for high pressure control systems, CMM and laser tracks
Knowledge of calibration techniques/methodologies for various types of torque equipment. Additional background in electrical/electronic calibration
measurements
Applies knowledge of mechanical, optical, thermal, force, and dimensional engineering to certify and calibrate tools and equipment for conformance with specifications. Maintains traceability of measurement standards to the National
Institute of Standards and Technology. Calibrate Measurement and Test Equipment and maintain Standards in accordance with approved documentation to provide calibrated equipment traceable to the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) and/or other regulatory requirements. Performs tasks involving problem solving and
decision making, selection of processes and procedures,selection and setup of equipment, and the reporting of results. Regularly contributes to the improvements of
methods and processes, including identifying and recommending new test equipment, processes, and methods. Trains and guides entry-level personnel in routine
processes, equipment operation and set up, calibrationcertification requirements, and safety. Contacts personnel outside the organization to provide information and advice as needed on methods, equipment and capabilities. May coordinate the activities of other people and organizations to accomplish department objective.
