Wages/Salary: For payment and tax purposes the Research Intern will be considered an independent contractor and will be paid a stipend of $4,550.00.
The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills and will be comfortable communicating directly with clients and the potentially vulnerable populations who will participate in research. They will also be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once. Quantitative research experience is preferred. Experience with qualitative research methods is required, as well as a willingness to take on both quantitative and qualitative research responsibilities. This role is perfect for someone currently seeking graduate education in areas including but not limited to Sociology, Psychology, Communications, Community Development, Public Health, Public Policy, Social Work, and other social science-related fields.
Better Way Consulting is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Research & Policy Intern for the period of 5/13 - 8/9/24. Better Way Consulting will be working on a multiple grant-funded projects for Feeding the Carolinas, a partner organization to Feeding America. These grants will require both qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting.
The intern will report directly to CEO and will assist on tasks such as:
- Survey programming (using Qualtrics)
- Quantitative survey analysis (using Qualtrics)
- In-depth interviewing, in-person or over the phone
- Qualitative analysis of interviews and/or focus groups
- Recruiting participants for interviews, focus groups, and surveys
- Writing reports and creating presentations
- Other research or administrative-related tasks
