Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Trains to operate a tandem or 5 yard dump truck, for hauling materials including asphalt,limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction mateirals and debris. Trains in the operation of heavier equipment including steel wheel rollers, slope mowers, buzz bar and backhoes. Performs duties using manual labor including maintenance tasks as clearing right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/crossline pipe. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Operates chain saw in cutting trees on right-of-way. Trains to operate standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Conducts and documents pre-opeartion vehicle/equipment inspection. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as outlined in equipment specifications.

Schedule:
FTE - Full-Time, Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
