Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Trains in the operation of heavier equipment including steel wheel rollers, motorgraders, specialized mowers, and backhoes. Trains in the operation of tandem and standard dump trucks for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Performs manual labor in building catch basins, pouring concrete for curbs and raised median, laying pipes for driveways and other drainage structures, repairing shoulders, clearing right-of-ways and repairing bridges. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Operates chain saw in cutting trees on right-of-way. Trains to operate standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle/equipment inspection. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Repairs potholes and base surfaces failures of roadway using hand tools including shovel, pick, rake and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed. Trains in the operation of the front-end loader in the loading of materials needed for maintenance operations including earth materials, clay, sand and aggregate. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as outlined in equipment specifications. Operates power and/or air tools in breaking out sidewalks and curbs for driveway construction and other concrete or asphalt pavement repair jobs. Trains in the operation of a truck mounted pipe cleaner (Jet Vac)in cleaning driveway and crossline pipes.

Schedule:
FTE - Full-Time, Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
