valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Trains to operate tandem ten-wheel dump truck, standard dump truck and flatbed truck for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials
and debris. Performs duties using manual labor in maintenance tasks as clearing of right-ofways,
cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs,
repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Trains to operate a
backhoe in cleaning ditches and placing pipe. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of
traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Trains in the operation of heavier
equipment including front end loaders, self-propelled belt loaders, steel wheel and pneumatic
rollers, motorgraders, and specialized mowers. Assists in the installation of driveways; using
hand tools, hand tamp, places aggregates, removes mailboxes and reinstalls and helps place
large sections of pipe. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by
supervisor. Repairs potholes and base/surface failures of roadway using hand tools including
shovel, pick, rake and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed. Trains to operate standard dump
truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways
and bridges. Trains to operate tractor mounted rotary ditching machine.
