Requirements:

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human
Resources Rgeulations.
A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid
Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position.
However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if
no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.

Trains to operate tandem ten-wheel dump truck, and flatbed truck for hauling materials

including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Trains in
the operation of heavier equipment including steel wheel rollers, motorgraders, specialized
mowers, ditching machine, and backhoes. Performs manual labor in building catch basins,
pouring concrete for curbs and raised medians, laying pipes for driveways, and other drainage
structures, repairing shoulders, clearing right-of-ways, and repairing bridges. Flags traffic during
road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public, and equipment.
Operates chainsaw in cutting trees on right-of-way. Trains to operate standard dump truck with
snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges.
Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle/equipment inspections. Performs other related
job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Trains to operate front-end loader in the
loading of materials needed for maintenance operations including earth materials, clay, sand,
and aggregate. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as outlined in equipment
specification. Operates compressors, concrete mixers, jackhammers, and steam cleaners.
