A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. However, qualified applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required within six (6) months of placement in the position.
Working knowledge of HMMS, Microsoft Office and other related computer programs.
Operates heavy motorgrader, athey loader, and backhoe in ditching/shoulder operations and repairs. These operations include cleaning side ditches, trenching for pipelines, laying pipes for driveway installations, machining shoulders, spreading and leveling materials in order to ensure proper drainage, and loading trucks with fill materials. Operates tandem and 5 yard dump trucks transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites. Must maintain a Class "A"
Commercial Driver's License. Trains in daily data entry into HMMS including employee time entry, work accomplishments, and deficiency corrections. Acts as a crew leader in the absence of supervisor performing ditching operations or other related duties. Performs related duties as required. Assists in removal of snow and ice, clearing roadways and rights-of-way in inclement weather. On rotation stand-by one week out of six.
