Requirements:

10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades
experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with state
human resources regulations.
CLASS A COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE. (NOTE): this position requires a class a
commercial driver's license. However, applicants without a class a commercial
driver's license will be considered if no qualified applicants with a class a
commercial driver's license are available. However, applicants are required to
obtain a class a commercial driver's license within six (6) months of
employment.
May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays, and during
inclement weather or other emergencies.

Job Description:

Serves as a crew leader on the Greenville Maintenance sign crew. Supervises sign erection crew in the installation of new roadway signs and is responsible for the replacement of existing signs. Inspects signs for serviceability. Serves as an assistant crew supervisor in Greenville county. Assumes foreman's duties and responsibilities during the foreman's absence. Prepares daily records of work performed and materials used, enters data in Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS) and the maintenance requests and complaints forms. Operates a fork lift in loading and unloading maintenance and construction materials and supplies. Conducts safety inspection on all assigned vehicles and equipment. Operates a chainsaw in the
removal of downed trees. Operates truck mounted plows, brine tanks, and sand spreaders in snow and ice removal as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
