Requirements:

10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an
approved acceptable equivelance in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid commercial driver's license. (Note): This position requires a class A commercial driver's
license. However, applicants without a class A commercial driver's license will be considered if
no qualified applicants with a class A commercial driver's license are available. However,
applicants are required to obtain a class A commercial driver's license within six (6) months of
employment.
May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays, and during inclement weather
or other emergencies.

Job Description:

Under general supervision. Performs skilled duties in the operation of heavy duty and complex
motorized equipment in the construction and maintenance of state roads and bridges. Operates
combination front-end loader and backhoe to clean out drainage ditches and to install sideline
and cross line pipe. Operates large motor graders in ditching, shoulder operations, grading and
machining roads, driveway installation or snow and ice removal. Operates tandem dump truck
in hauling maintenance and construction materials such as concrete pipes, asphalt, dirt,
coquina, etc. Assumes crew leader's duties and responsibilities during his absence.
Investigates complaints of property owners and recommends action to be taken. Performs
other job related duties, including on call for after hour emergencies.
