Trades Specialist III

Serves as crew leader and operates boom mowers, slope mowers (with mowing head and buzz bar), and bat wing mowers in roadside and right-of-ways clearing operation as necessary to meet business plan goals. Responsible for minor servicing and making minor repairs to equipment. May serve as assistant crew foreman for mowing crew, assuming minor responsibilities in crew foreman's absence and reports to Resident Maintenance Foreman. Assists with instructing crew members daily in the practice of other related duties as required for normal operations including flagging, workzone setup and take down, follow vehicle driving, small power tool operation, proper PPE usage, etc. Trains in assisting foreman with utilizing HMMS program; gathering and entering figures for daily work reports, employee work time, acreage and mileage, and ensuring accuracy for daily equipment checklist. Operates 5 yard and tandem dump trucks hauling equipment and materials to and from job sites. Performs other related duties as required for stand-by crew rotation, emergencies, snow-ice removal, and equipment operation requiring right-of-ways debris removal.
