Transportation Engineering Technician (61033628)

Acts as an inspector on roadway projects. Performs independent inspection, working alongside other engineers, testing and sampling material. Performs traffic control inspection to include signs, barricades, and pavement markings. Performs inspection of miscellaneous roadway items. Performs all required traffic control inspections. Assists with determining and resolving utility conflicts.  Acts as inspector for bridge projects. Performs independent inspection, working alongside engineers, sampling and testing material, inspecting the placement of concrete in all cast of bridge elements, as well as other concrete roadway structures. Performs all required traffic control and erosion control inspections. Assists with determining and resolving utility conflicts.  Assists in surveying, checking and verifying all offsets, alignments, and grades that are associated with all construction projects.  Assists with conducting wage regulation interviews and performs EEO activities. Inputs and reviews all Daily Work Reports on assigned projects. Maintains office records in accordance with Department and office policies. Inputs and verifies the accuracy of the Certification and Sample Logs on assigned projects. Assists in the preparation of monthly estimates. Performs general office duties such as assisting with the phones and customer service, as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.
