The Registered Vascular Technologist provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Uses independent judgment and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimal patient care as well as other assigned duties as assigned by the Noninvasive Supervisor. Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Assists the Manager with the daily operations of the vascular laboratory and training staff as needed. Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of competence under the supervision of the Noninvasive Supervisor.  Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Coordinates work schedule with lab manager to assure workload coverage.  Consults with referring physician, patient chart, and/or lab supervisor regarding patients' history to determined appropriate lab procedure when necessary. Assists with accreditation requirements and submission of accreditation application.
