Veterinary Technician

Four Paws Animal Clinic located in Columbia,South Carolina is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. Four Paws is a fast-paced, growing, four doctor practice. In order to be considered for this position all applicants must be licensed or be enrolled in a Licensed Veterinary Technician program with the expected graduation in the next 3 months. This opening is also extended to students looking for an externship. The right candidate must be able to interact with all staff members and clients in a professional and dynamic manner with a positive attitude. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is dependable and organized. We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, caring, and comfortable in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Our Vet Techs are responsible for supporting veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocating for pets, and educating clients. Our technicians must have the ability to assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the states Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed Veterinary Technicians. Our technicians communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer wellness options, medications, and additional treatments. The candidate must use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Vet Techs may perform nail trims, clean and bandage wounds, check vital statistics, collect samples, perform laboratory testing, place IV catheters, perform x-rays, and administer medication. Available to work from 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM and rotating Saturdays

Able to lift 50 pounds

Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) preferred
