Requirements:

Skills - Proficient in animal physiology, anatomy and husbandry; ability to draw blood, knowledge of veterinary terminology, ability to handle animal restraint with care & compassion, experience working on a kennel or veterinary setting a plus, strong data entry skills, valid DL required, clinical training available for new graduates

Job Description:

Assist in providing quality medical care for shelter animals (dogs & cats).

Provide safe treatment and care for animals including vaccinations, microchips, examinations, performance of medical and first aid treatments and documenting appropriately.  Perform various laboratory tests and procedures, administer medications and monitor health status of shelter animals on a daily basis. Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures, maintain accurate medical records, educate pet owners on topics such as animal care, nutrition, medication administration, etc. 

Schedule:
Flexible - 8 hour shift - daytime only - on site at the shelter
must be available to work some weekend days, holidays, etc.
