Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven proficiency in operating video cameras (Sony), lighting and sound equipment, a gimbal, and a green screen.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and post-production software, ideally Apple Final Cut Pro.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage multiple creative projects simultaneously.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in video production or equivalent preferred; will substitute experience for education.
  • Experience with video production and editing is essential
  • Photography skills preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be comfortable with standing for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times
  • Must be able to climb a step ladder
Job Description:

The Videographer works with faculty and staff of all divisions of the Greenwood Genetic Center to provide videography expertise and skills in the planning, filming, and editing of a variety of video projects.  The Videographer will report to the Director of Communications.

  • None

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain GGC’s video studio and associated equipment. Create video content from concept through filming and editing the final product.
  • Work with faculty and staff to plan video content to promote the Greenwood Genetic Center and support operations.
  • Conduct and film interviews, record non-interview footage and B-roll.
  • Manage lighting and sound needs during filming.
  • Edit video and audio into professional video productions for use in a variety of settings.
  • Occasional weekend/evening hours and travel within South Carolina may be needed for special events or projects.
  • Potential for hybrid/remote work when appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
