Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: Must have successfully completed a formal educational program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT and have successfully passed the ARRT examination. Maintain current and proper radiologic licensure/certification for the state of South Carolina.

Job Description:


Job Specific Functions: 1. Perform high quality diagnostic imaging examinations using x-rays. 2. Keep patient records of imaging procedures and adjust/maintain equipment per protocol.
3. Stage patients in preparation for patients to see provider according to provider protocol.
4. Record vital signs on all patients at every visit according to practice protocol.
5. Update all patient medications (including OTC medication, vitamins and supplements) in the medication history at each visit.
6. Perform needed immunizations, preventive services and administer screening tools (i.e. alcohol and depression) according to practice standing orders.
7. Perform patient-related tasks as directed by practice providers.
8. Track imaging and lab tests until all results are received. Provide results to clinicians or their nurse (per practice protocol) and make certain results are logged into the patient's medical record.
9. Ensure that patient medical records are up to date with information on specialist referrals, consults, hospitalizations, ER visits and community organization related to their health.
10. Provide clinical advice to patients by phone or email per practice protocol.
11. Ensure all needed medical records are available to provider prior to patient's office visit. Provide copy of clinical summary to patients.
12. Support patients and families in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change.
13. Communicate with patients and families in an effective, patient-centered manner, utilizing techniques such as motivational interviewing and the teach-back method.
14. Perform administrative duties as directed, including but not limited to, scheduling appointments and coding visits for insurance purposes.
15. Complete continuing education as required by practice or for the purposes of maintaining certification.
16. Attend staff meetings and complete continuing education or training as required by practice.
17. Coordinate with other team members to provide exceptional patient service.
18. Serve on quality improvement projects/teams as designated.
19. Other duties as assigned.
