Donors, Recipients Recognized at Luncheon
Scholarships were presented to students and donors were recognized at the recent scholarship luncheon.
Seven Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the PTC Foundation Board Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Harriet Greenhough, an Associate in Arts student from Greenwood; Len Bornemann, PTC Foundation vice chairman; and Kelli Shealy, a heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology student from Newberry. Not pictured are Daren Bedenbaugh, a commercial art student from Leesville; Christian Newsome, a diversified agriculture student from Edgefield; Erica Prescott, a business major from Gray Court; Krystal Simpson, an Associate in Arts student from Abbeville; and Adam Stefanini, an HVAC student from Prosperity. The scholarships are awarded to an outstanding high school graduate from each of the college's supporting counties based on academic achievement while in high school.

The scholarship is awarded each year based on academic achievement and financial need to a South Carolina resident.
Piedmont Technical College student and Hodges resident Jessica Wakefield (right) was recently awarded the Countybank Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Wakefield, an accounting major, is congratulated by Lynn Turner from Countybank. The scholarship is awarded annually to Greenwood County residents enrolled in the Business curriculum. Selection is based on scholastic record, financial need and faculty recommendations.
Piedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident Jasmine Lingle (right) recently received the People That Care Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Lingle, a funeral service education student, is congratulated by David Martin, funeral service program director. This scholarship is available to a Funeral Services major with academic achievement, leadership abilities and financial need.
Two Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Lakelands Homebuilders Association of Greenwood Scholarship at the annual scholarship luncheon. The scholarship is awarded annually to BCT students based on academic achievement.
Piedmont Technical College student and Calhoun Falls resident Lesley Booth (left) was recently awarded the Lucille Brooks Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Booth, a human services major, is congratulated by Dr. Ray Brooks, president of Piedmont Tech. This scholarship, established to honor the memory of Lucille Brooks, is available to a single parent showing financial need and academic achievement.
Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Henry Blohm Leadership Scholarship. Recipients were Caitlyn Clegg, a pharmacy technician student from McCormick, and Courtny Maddox, an early care and education student from Clarks Hill. The scholarship is available to a student who has exhibited academic achievement, leadership abilities and financial need.
