Luncheon Honors Scholarship Donors, Recipients

Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.

Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Countybank Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Walt Lordemann, a business major from Greenwood; David Bell from Countybank; and Brandon White, a business major from Ware Shoals. The scholarship is awarded annually to Greenwood County residents enrolled in the Business curriculum. Selection is based on scholastic record, financial need and faculty recommendations.

Piedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident Jennifer Eustace (left) was recently awarded the Emerald City Rotary Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Eustace, a veterinary technology student, is pictured with Chip Stockman, representing the Emerald City Rotary Club. The scholarship was established for "Service Above Self" for a Greenwood County high school senior/incoming freshman. Selection is based on service to community or participation in school activities, and grade point average.

Piedmont Technical College student and Mountville resident Lashavious Bluford (center) was recently awarded the Lena Wood Warren Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Bluford, a practical nursing major, is pictured with Rosalie Stevenson, interim dean of nursing (left) and Lena Warren, former dean of health science at Piedmont Tech (right). This scholarship is available to a practical or associate degree nursing student who has completed at least one semester in the nursing program. The recipient has a 3.0 GPA or above, has an outstanding clinical performance as determined by clinical instructor, shows financial need and demonstrates leadership abilities.

Piedmont Technical College student and Abbeville resident Jacquelyn Garlington (left) was recently awarded the Fujifilm PTC Golf Classic Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Garlington, a cardiovascular technology student, is pictured with Lisa Crawford, scholarship committee member. The scholarship is funded through an annual golf tournament held each spring and selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Honeycutt Scholarship. Recipients were Thomas Morgan, a radiologic technology student from Edgefield and Rachel Raines, an administrative office technology student from Edgefield. The scholarship is awarded annually to an Edgefield County student and is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Piedmont Technical College student and associate in arts major Rachel Moss from McCormick was recently awarded the Gilchrist Family Scholarship. Established by Dr. William J. Gilchrist, this scholarship is based on financial need.
