Piedmont Tech to Host Open House
Piedmont Technical College will sponsor an Open House Tuesday, March 22 in the James Medford Family Event Center on the Lex Walters Campus. Representatives from the more than 80 programs offered at PTC will be available to answer questions. There will be two sessions: a morning session from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and an evening session from 4-7 p.m.
“Open House is an excellent opportunity for the community to see what Piedmont Technical College has to offer in our academic programs and student services,” said Renae Frazier, dean of admissions. “This day will be a showcase of program demonstrations and face-to-face conversations with faculty and staff.”
Visitors will be able to participate in hands-on demonstrations, have face-to-face discussions with faculty and staff, have their enrollment and financial aid questions answered on the spot and talk with career counselors to determine the program path that suites them best.
“Our event will be set up like a trade show,” said Frazier. “Representatives from all of our programs will be on-hand inside, and just outside of the Medford Center to demonstrate what their programs have to offer.”
Event displays will feature live demonstrations of 3-D printing and computer technology, robotics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Faculty will showcase the college’s health-related programs through ultrasound and CPR demonstrations, blood pressure checks and more. Visitors will also learn how they can excel in a host of business and public service careers.
Refreshments will be available and door prizes will be given away, including an iPad and Playstation 4.
“We want everyone to walk away with a new understanding of how affordable a college education can be,” said Frazier. “More importantly, we want visitors to fully understand the benefits of making PTC their first choice for college.”
