PTC Offers Scholarship Information Sessions
Piedmont Technical College’s Economic Development and Continuing Education division is offering a new tuition assistance program for individuals seeking training in information technology, advanced manufacturing and health care.
The Workforce Pathways Scholarship is available to any student in the seven-county Piedmont Tech service area who is at least 18 with a high school diploma or GED. Participants must also undergo a drug screen and background check.
The scholarship, which covers tuition, books and exam fees up to $2000, allows students to enroll in continuing education classes and earn state and national certifications in fields such as certified nursing assistant, emergency medical technician, OSHA and Microsoft Office Specialist as well as specialized manufacturing courses such as Six Sigma Yellow Belt and American Society for Quality certifications.
Interested persons may attend an information session any Tuesday at PTC’s Continuing Education office on North Emerald Road. Identical sessions will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Additional information sessions will be held in the surrounding counties at a later date.
