PTC Recognizes Scholarship Donors, Recipients
Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.
Piedmont Technical College student and Newberry resident Casandra Laster (left) recently received the Newberry Electric Cooperative Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Laster, a commercial art student, is congratulated by Debra Shaw. Awarded annually to first and second-year students from Newberry County, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Piedmont Technical College student and Abbeville resident Debra Tiller (right) was recently awarded The Links at Stoney Point PTC Golf Classic Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Tiller, an associate degree nursing student, is pictured with Kevin Whitehead, golf pro at The Links at Stoney Point. The scholarship is funded through an annual golf tournament held each spring and selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Piedmont Technical College student and Iva resident Kasey Siler (left) recently received the Johnny L. Moore Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Siler, a radiologic technology major, is congratulated by Jerry Alewine, dean of health science. The scholarship was established in honor of the clinical instructor Johnny Moore who spent more than 30 years in the program. The scholarship is awarded to a senior radiologic technology student with a program GPA of 3.5 and limited practice eligibility.
Piedmont Technical College student and Chapin resident Diana Bussard (left) was recently awarded the Martha B. Williams Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Bussard, an accounting major, is congratulated Arlena Brown of the Williams family. Awarded annually to students demonstrating leadership ability, exhibiting character and good life skills, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Piedmont Technical College respiratory care student Debra Lyshoj of Greenwood recently received the Jeanne Florence Scholarship Award. This scholarship is available to past Educational Talent Search or Upward Bound students or a Student Support Services participant and is based on financial need, academic achievement and recommendation by Student Services director and staff.
