Surgical Technology Program Hosts State Bowl

More than 150 surgical technology students and instructors from eight of the technical colleges recently participated in annual Student Surgical Technology Bowl for the state of South Carolina at Piedmont Technical College. The day consisted of students being divided into teams in a quiz bowl-type competition.  The questions included information necessary for their National Certification exam. Representatives from the SC State Assembly for Surgical Technologists were also on hand to answer students’ questions. South Carolina was one of the first states to develop this format of statewide cooperation for review.
