Wiley Named Assistant VP for Development
Piedmont Technical College President Dr. Ray Brooks has named Fran Wiley the college’s Assistant Vice President for Development.
Wiley joined the college in 1992 as the executive assistant for the Piedmont Technical College Foundation. Most recently, she served as executive director of the Foundation.
“Because I am a graduate and have continued my education, I see the value of starting with a two-year college degree,” said Wiley “I want to share that with the community to seek support for the educational services we provide.”
Wiley said she will continue in her role with the Foundation to support the students, programs and services of the college. While continuing such community events as the annual PTC Golf Classic, which provides scholarships for students, Wiley hopes to add the growing number of summer camps to the services the Foundation supports.
“Working with Continuing Education, we’re trying to combine everything under one umbrella of summer youth programs because you have the camps for younger children and the educational youth programs,” she said. “We are searching for funding to support these programs so they can continue to provide a service for the community.”
Welcoming Wiley to her new responsibilities on the PTC team, Brooks commented on the wealth of experience and the level of commitment she brings to the college.
“We are indeed fortunate to have someone with Fran’s dedication to the students and the continued growth of the college working so diligently with the members of the communities we serve,” Brooks said.
