Piedmont Tech Student Welders Shine at Competition

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) student welders quietly sparked notice last month at the 38th Annual SC Technical College Welding Skills Competition held at Tri-County Technical College. Ryan Long placed second in “Category 1,” which comprises three position steel and aluminum welds. Connor Sample placed second in “Category 6,” which comprises tasks related to stainless steel pipe welding. 

Rad Tech Program Director Named Innovator of the Year at Piedmont Tech

The Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Area Commission recognized Radiologic Technology Program Director Lee Balentine with its 2022 Innovator of the Year at its meeting on April 19. At the first inkling that the college might shut down because of COVID-19 in spring 2020, Balentine’s first thought was that the Radiologic Technology Program would need to suspend operations indefinitely, putting students way off course for graduation. 

June 16 Career Fair Exclusively for Employment at Piedmont Tech

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) is seeking professional faculty and staff for a variety of positions across seven campuses. Accordingly, college officials are prepared to interview employment prospects at its upcoming Career Fair on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Medford Family Event Center on the Greenwood campus.

Graduates Urged to 'Stamp Your Work With Excellence'

Two hundred fifty-one go-getters, risk-takers, empaths, dreamers, and leaders graduated from Piedmont Technical College (PTC) on May 5. Among them was a sous chef who had enrolled and dropped out of college multiple times over two decades as work, marriage, and parenting three children took center stage. Not only did he finally earn his degree but, in addition to serving as a PTC Presidential Ambassador, he was invited to serve as a commencement speaker.
