Outstanding Students Honored at Piedmont Tech Winter Commencement

At Piedmont Technical College’s recent winter commencement exercises, outstanding students from several of the college’s supporting counties were honored for academic achievement.

Piedmont Tech Holds Winter Graduation

Piedmont Technical College held its winter graduation on Dec. 13 at the James Medford Family Event Center in Greenwood. One hundred and twenty-three (123) graduates walked across the stage to receive their degrees and shift the tassel hanging from their caps. Two graduation speakers expressed gratitude for their blessings as well as appreciation for the encouragement they received from teachers and fellow students.

School Districts Partner with PTC to Provide More Options

Greenwood School Districts 50, 51 and 52 will be collaborating with Piedmont Technical College next fall to offer their students two new opportunities to prepare for careers in health care.

Presidential Ambassador Eyes Nursing Career

Aime Lorick had an epiphany in 11th grade that led to her pursuit of a nursing degree at Piedmont Technical College, where she also serves as a Presidential Ambassador representing the college. She realized the inherent value of newborns from day one. “I want to be reminded of miracles every day,” Lorick said. “That’s why I want to be a labor-and-delivery nurse.”

Piedmont Tech Prepared to Help Displaced Students

Like many in the higher education community, officials at Piedmont Technical College heard the news about Virginia College closing and expressed concern for the students who were impacted. Students affected by the closures are invited to inquire about opportunities to continue their education at Piedmont Technical College. Spring Classes begin at PTC on January 9, and registration is open now.
