Electricity has always been in Wade Smith’s blood. It’s been passed down in his family over three generations. And he is sharing that knowledge with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technology students at Piedmont Technical College.
Greenwood Partnership Alliance in association with Piedmont Technical College recently held the inaugural Greenwood County Business and Industry Showcase, which featured more than 20 Greenwood industries that provided information to approximately 1500 area 10th and 11th graders, as well as seniors from the G. Frank Russell Technology Center. The showcase was hosted in the James Medford Family Event Center at Piedmont Tech.
Piedmont Technical College students who had outstanding academic accomplishments during the 2015 summer term have earned inclusion on the President’s List, Dean's List and Merit List.
The apprenticeship programs at Piedmont Technical College will continue to grow as the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (DOLETA) recently awarded the SC Technical College System a $5 million grant to expand apprenticeship in the state.
Piedmont Technical College is working with the Greenwood Partnership Alliance to host the Greenwood County Business & Industry Showcase on Tuesday, Sept. 22 and Wednesday, Sept. 23.
